A wonderful, untouched natural landscape can be found in the region around the Eisenberger Mühltal. The nature reserve "An den Ziegenböcken" extends between Bad Klosterlausnitz, Eisenberg and Hainspitz over an area of more than 400 hectares. Centrally located in the designated FFH (Flora-Fauna-Habitat) protected area is the Klosterlausnitz Moor, also known as the "Red Puddle Swamp". The Red Puddle is a body of water at the entrance to the Mühltal coming from Weißenborn.
The Klosterlausnitz Moor is the largest transitional moor in Eastern Thuringia and is significant for the orientation of the spa business in Bad Klosterlausnitz. Even today there are numerous applications with the natural substance Morr for the relief and healing of many complaints.
