The Klosterlausnitz Moor or nature reserve also called Red Puddle Swamp is surrounded by beech trees north of Bad Klosterlausnitz. From the parking lot of the spa complex in Bad Klosterlausnitz, the area, which can be reached on foot, is closely linked to the healing treatments in the Kurmittelhaus. The route of the moor railroad, which connected the cultivation area with the spa, can still be seen today. In 1972, peat extraction ended.

Due to its proximity to the spa and its special character as a moor, the area is a destination for recreation seekers. In addition to signposted paths, display boards provide information on the special natural features of the area as well as its historical use.
